The obvious grumpy facade and the most pleasantly quiet, loving brother and father side. Back when I was just a wee lad, the whole family was riding in Dad's pickup truck returning from Uncle Ed's farm in Croswell. It was late at night and quite chilly in the back up the truck where all of us boys loved to ride (without seat belts). I fondly remember Philip covering me with a blanket while I was snoozing. He played the big brother role so well. Being the first born to a truly great sheet metal man, Phil learned all aspects of the trade (and then some) from his father. Phil drank his fair share of booze and loved his pipe.
